Welcome to Lighthouse Counseling. Therapy is based upon boundaries and trust. Please carefully review the following information since it is the foundation on which the counseling relationship is built.

Counselor Qualifications and Areas of Practice: I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Youngstown State University and proceeded onto an advanced standing program at Barry University where I earned my Masters of Social Work degree. I completed my clinical internships at Someplace Safe domestic violence shelter in Warren, Ohio and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Miami, Florida. My professional experience includes work with individuals, children, families, and couples. I will make appropriate referrals should we find that my clinical experience will not effectively meet your clinical needs.  

Theoretical Orientation: My primary theoretical orientation is Integrative. This theoretical orientation allows me to apply components of several major counseling and psychological theories including: Cognitive-Behavioral, Solutions Focused, and Family Systems Approach, Narrative Therapy, and more. I also use aspects of play and art therapy techniques  when appropriate. Each of these theories/systems complement each other, and ultimately allow for more client directed therapy. Each of these approaches is well established, researched, and respected. I do provide spiritual interventions when appropriate such as inner healing prayer and faith-based discussions. These are not researched modalities and clients are never required to participate in any modality either clinical or spiritual at  any time.

Supervision Information: I am currently a Supervisee in Social Work working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker  (LCSW). During this time, I am receiving supervision from Lacy Biddle MSW, LCSW.
