Meichell Worthing, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, a board certified Virginia Supervisor and the owner, CEO of Lighthouse Counseling and Psychotherapy LLC.

Meichell Worthing started Lighthouse Counseling in 2008 wanting to partner with the Trinity (Father, Son/Jesus, and the Holy Spirit) to bind up the broken-hearted (Isaiah 61). She began expanding Lighthouse by taking on additional clinical staff in October of 2018. She has held her license in good standing since October 2007 and has been a clinical supervisor since 2014.  Due to the beautiful growth of Lighthouse over the past several years, housing 29 providers and counting, she no longer provides direct client care unless she is substituting for another provider or providing inner healing prayer. Inner healing prayer is a strictly non-clinical service provided in a maximum of 1-2 sessions per year per person. These are donation based services and used to fund local and international missions initiatives that are auxiliary to Lighthouse’s clinical counseling mission such as our missions to Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua and anywhere else the Lord leads. Her ordination is held and governed by Vanguard Ministries. She offers consultation services within the community, to the church, and other non-profits or businesses needing support managing, understanding mental health needs and for becoming a trauma informed church.

She is trained to work with males, females, military active duty and military dependents, first responders, their families (having lived and professional experience in both), infertility and adoption/foster care.

Her clinical training includes Clinical Supervision, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Integration (EMI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), aspects of Play Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Tf-CBT) and her areas of specialty include trauma, complex trauma/dissociation, anxiety, and depression.  She is further trained in Inner Healing Prayer, a non-clinical, faith-based approach to healing and mind renewal.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Piedmont College (2002) and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Regent University (2005).

Outside of work, Meichell enjoys spending time with her family and feline quadrupeds, reading and traveling to share the love of Jesus far and wide.
